We strive to ensure that every order you place with us is perfect. And that starts with ensuring that we are all communicating dimensions uniformly.
In the monument world we list measurements in Length x Width x Height and in feet – inches.
Polish Makes a Difference!
Talk to any “monument person” and they will use phrases like “P2” or “P5” while talking about an upright memorial.
This lingo is used to simply describe the polish on the stone. When they say, “P2” they are saying “polished on two sides”.
The graphic to the left demonstrates how this lingo is used.
In the price book you will notice we have priced our standard 6″ and 8″ uprights in both P2 and in P5. Of course, having 5 sides polished is more expensive than only having 2.
When describing the polish on a base we use a slightly different lingo. Rather than use a combination of P + numeral, we use more descriptive abbreviations. The graphics below show what we are describing and how they the descriptions are abbreviated.
